At the European Championship in Yerevan, the Ukrainian team set an unsatisfactory victory for itself.
For the first time since 2015, Ukraine will not be represented in the final of the European Boxing Championship. This came to light after the semi-finals of the tournament, which will be held in Yerevan this year. In the capital of Armenia, four of our boxers at once, unfortunately, stumbled a step before the decisive fight.
In the semi -finals of the European Championship, Dmitry Zamotaev, in the weight category up to 51 kg, lost to Spaniard Salvador Martin Molina, Yuri Shestak in the category up to 60 kg – to Spaniard Jose Brotons Quiles, Yuri Zakhareev in the category to 71 kg – in Briton Mohammed Harris Akbar, and Ivan Sapun in the up to 80 kg category – Alfred Cromwell Comey from Italy. Thus, all Ukrainians won bronze medals of the European Championship.
