Russian UFC fighter Alexander Volkov told Sport24 that he likes to smoke cigars.
You said you smoked cigars. How did this habit originate?
– It’s not a habit, it’s just that some people drink beer, and I smoke cigars. Not just every weekend – less often. If it’s a good company, a good party and a good cigar… That is to say, it’s not a frequent ritual, I just allow myself sometimes and do not harm my health. I’m not advocating in any way, but I like it. The first time I tried a cigar in the Dominican Republic was when I visited a factory. I went into the production, the whole process. Then I met people in love with this profession, and they spoke to me a little more about cigars, about the culture of the smoker. I won’t say that I have to smoke at least one cigar a month. They’re home to me in a box, and I can sometimes afford them if I’m not preparing for a fight.
Volkov, 34, has had 45 MMA fights and 35 wins. His next opponent will be announced shortly.
