Another replacement opponent for the ex-world champion
American boxer Michael Williams Jr. (20-1, 13 KOs) will compete with ex-world champion EDrien Broner (34-4-1, 24 KO) instead of Ukrainian Ivan Redkach. The fight will take place on February 25 in Atlanta.
This is Broner’s second substitution. After the Ukrainian announced the cancellation of his fight, Adrian agreed with the American Hank Lundy. However, the latter was suspended indefinitely by the California State Athletic Commission.
Williams Jr. had his last fight in April 2022. The American defeated Julio Buitrago by TKO in the third round.
Initially, Ivan Redkach was supposed to face Broner in the ring on February 18 in Atlanta. The fight was later rescheduled for February 25.
Later, the Ukrainian issued a statement about the cancellation of the fight with Adrien. Ivan also announced the end of his professional career. The Ukrainian accused promoter Joe DeGuardia of disrupting the fight.
