Today “Tank” knocked out Rolando Romero
Former Undisputed World Lightweight Champion Teofimo Lopez shared his impressions of the victory Gervonts Davis above Rolando Romero.
Lopez offered Davis a light welterweight fight.
“It was a great fight. Rolando Romero was winning the fight until he missed this punch. Before the sixth round, I counted 4:1 in favor of Romero. You don’t win a fight or a round just because you have one or two counterattacks,” Lopez said.
What’s next for Davis? Anything he wants. Let him fight me, let’s go. He looked too light at lightweight. We can fight at light welterweight. Perhaps he will thank me for it.”
“Romero did a phenomenal job until the very end, until he missed a beat. He got too carried away and raised his head. That was the only thing I was worried about Rollie and didn’t want to talk about it.”
Last night, Davis defeated Romero via TKO in the sixth round to retain the WBA (Regular) lightweight title.
