The promoter believes that the official fight can be announced in early February
Promoter Alexander Krasyuk said that the new optimal time for the fight between the WBO / WBA / IBF / IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and the owner of the WBC belt Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) will be the end of April.
“Before the New Year, we planned to announce the fight, which was supposed to take place in early March. However, life has made certain adjustments, and there have been such circumstances that the end of April is a more optimal date for us than the beginning of March. Therefore, we are now intensively working on the date and contract. I think in early February we should announce the fight, ”said the promoter.
Previously, Krasyuk called March 4 the most effective working date for the fight. Also, the contract may include the option of a rematch.
Promoter Bob Arum said that Usyk wants an equal distribution of income between the boxers in the unification fight with Fury. Arum also clarified that the organizers are waiting for proposals from representatives from the Middle East who wish to host the fight.
