At the International Tournament Ivan Yarygin Cup in freestyle wrestling, the last medals were played: in the weight categories up to 97 kg, up to 92 kg, up to 86 kg, up to 74 kg for men and up to 76 kg, up to 72 kg and up to 68 kg for women.
Russian Zaurbek Sidakov won a gold medal in the category up to 74 kg, beating compatriot Timur Bizhoev.
Magomed Kurbanov (Russia) defeated his compatriot Alikhan Zhabrailov in the weight category up to 97 kg (“Yarygin category”). Kurbanov managed to snatch victory in the dying seconds of the final battle.
Russian wrestler Alan Bagaev in the category up to 92 kg won against his compatriot Vladislav Valiev. This is Bagaev’s first victory in the tournament.
Arslan Bagaev (Russia) won gold in the 86 kg category. He defeated Ruslan Chertkoev (Russia) in the final bout.
Ekaterina Bukina from Russia beat Belarusian Anastasia Zimenkova in the category up to 76 kg for women.
In the weight class up to 72 kg Burma Ochirbat of Mongolia won against his compatriot Enkh-Amar.
Khanum Valiev (Russia) won gold in the 68 kg category, beating Ksenia Burakova (Russia) in the final.
The tournament named after two-time Olympic champion Ivan Yarygin was held in Krasnoyarka from January 25-29. The competitions were broadcast on the federal channel , as well as on the thematic channels of the holding and on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
