Klimas: I hope that in a week we will be able to make an announcement of the Usyk-Fury fight

The option of holding the fight in London and Saudi Arabia is being considered

Egis KlimasWBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion manager Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), said that the agreement on a contract for a duel with the WBC champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) is nearing completion.

“I can’t say much about this because we continue to work. There is no agreement on the fight yet, we are just working on it. Hopefully in about a week we can make a big announcement for the fans. Saudi Arabia is on our map, as is London.”

“Of course, I saw Usyk sparring with Fury on social media. I’m a part of that and I’m very proud of it because it’s not often that you get an undisputed world champion, especially in the heavyweight division. I think this is the biggest fight in history.”

Fury has previously stated that it doesn’t matter to him where the fight takes place. Tyson agrees to perform where the highest fee is paid.

Promoter Alexander Krasyuk said that the best time for Usyk and Fury to fight would be the end of April. Until the New Year, March 4 was considered the most effective date, but now the parties do not have time to prepare a battle for this time.

Promoter Bob Arum said that Usyk wants an equal distribution of income between the boxers in the unification fight with Fury. Arum also clarified that the organizers are waiting for proposals from representatives from the Middle East who wish to host the fight.
