The preliminary date of the fight between the world champion according to WBC, WBO, the Russian light heavyweight champion IBF has become known Artur Beterbiev and WBC mandatory challenger Callum Smith.
The fight could take place in Montreal at the end of the summer, according to Carl Moretti, vice-president of the promotion company Top Rank, quoted by BoxingScene. It should be noted that Beterbiev will observe the Ramadan fast from the end of March, so he will not be able to fight in the spring.
Beterbiev last week in London defeated Britain’s Anthony Yarde by technical knockout and defended his WBC, WBO and IBF titles.
The 38-year-old Russian has 19 first wins in 19 fights in the professional ring. Smith has 29 wins (21 by knockout) and one loss, which he suffered in 2020 against Mexican Saul Alvarez.
