Olympic Champion 2020 Albert Batyrgaziev told that ahead of the fight with former Panamanian WBA champion Jezreel Corrales he has revamped his boxing and promises to demonstrate his improved version.
A ten-round lightweight fight will take place on February 4 in Serpukhov as part of the third All-Russian Boxing Forum. Batyrgaziev has seven victories in the professional ring (5 by KO). In the last fight, the Russian defeated another Panamanian, Ricardo Nunez, by unanimous decision in November. Corrales has 26 wins (10 by KO) with four losses. The Panamanian is ranked sixth in the WBA lightweight division.
– For my eighth fight in the professional ring, I started preparing almost immediately after my last fight. I started to rethink my boxing – you have to change because the opposition is growing. Do you think Corrales is stronger than Nunez?
– He has the toughest boxing. Nunes had a more classic style, while Corrales was more experienced, more titled, dirtier boxing. So it’s going to be a big fight.
