WBC, WBO, IBF Russian light heavyweight world champion Arthur Beterbiev said he didn’t feel the crowd pressure during the fight against Britain’s Anthony Yarde in the UK.

Beterbiev defeated Yard by knockout on January 28 in London and defended three league titles. In the previous fight on June 18, 2022 at New York’s Madison Square Garden arena, Beterbiev defeated American Joe Smith Jr. in the main event. In total, at the professional level, the Russian has 19 victories in 19 fights (all by knockout).

– How was boxing in the West, given the situation around our sport?

“Wherever we are is the ring. I’m good in the ring. You always feel it when you go to your opponent’s homeland and box in their city. There are various difficulties, but you try to overcome them,” Beterbiev told .

– Was there any hatred associated with quasi-sports before the fight?

– In London, I felt that the public was interested in the sport there, they supported theirs, and in New York, I felt hatred, they shouted “ooo”. Although London had a bigger venue, it was almost twice as crowded as New York.
