Conor returns to professional sports
Former UFC champion in two weight divisions Conor McGregor (22-6) decided on the closest rival.
Conor will become a coach in the next season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter. The Irish team will face the American fighter team Michael Chandler (23-8). At the end of the season, the fighters will fight.
The Irishman had his last fight in the octagon in July 2021. Then Conor lost to Dustin Poirier in a trilogy match. Chandler is a former three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion. In November at UFC 281, he also lost to Poirier.
Earlier it was reported that McGregor was preparing for two fights against former world boxing champion in five divisions Floyd Mayweather.
The prize fund of two fights between Conor and Floyd will be $1.5 billion. One of the fights will take place in the MMA format, and the second will be a boxing match.
Mayweather and Conor are tentatively set to meet in 2023. The venues for the fights are Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.
In 2017, Mayweather defeated McGregor by TKO in the tenth round of a boxing match. The then fight was the only one for the Irishman in the boxing ring.
