In Marrakech, the preliminary fights of the international tournament for the prizes of the King of Morocco Mohammed VI continue.
On the third day of the competition, representatives of the Russian team Yulia Chumgalakova, Pavel Sosulin and Ekaterina Paltseva won and qualified for the semifinals.
In the semi-final, Chumgalakova will meet Alua Balkibekova of Kazakhstan, Sosulin received David Tsham of the Democratic Republic of Congo as rivals, Paltseva will fight with Spain’s Laura Fuertes Fernandez to reach the final.
These competitions were the first after the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes by the International Boxing Association (IBA) to tournaments without any restrictions. As a result, boxers perform under the national flag and with the national anthem.
