The fight ended in the first round. Bader won by technical knockout. For Emelianenko, this defeat was the seventh with 40 victories. Bader took the 34th win with seven losses.

Earlier, Emelianenko said the fight with Bader would be the last of his career. The 46-year-old Russian planned to end his career with a fight in Russia. But due to political events, Bellator has decided not to hold tournaments in Russia.
