Former world champion in four weight categories Roy Jones Jr. told that Fedor Emelianenko could try his hand at boxing, and offered to meet the Russian in an exhibition match.

Over the weekend in Inglewood (USA), Emelianenko lost in the first round to Bellator heavyweight champion American Ryan Bader and announced his retirement. In 2021, Roy Jones and Fedor Emelianenko made public statements about their willingness to hold an exhibition fight.

– I think boxing would be a great last step for Fedor. If that doesn’t work, then it really needs to end. We have to box with him. And if he succeeds, then he must continue. Otherwise he should quit,” Roy Jones told .

To the credit of the ex-champion in four weight categories, Jones, 54, has 66 victories (47 by KO) for nine defeats in the professional ring. In November 2021 Jones had an exhibition bout with former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson which ended in a draw. Fedor Emelianenko, a 46-year-old former Pride champion, has 40 wins and seven losses.
