Russian Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) Vyacheslav Vasilevsky told that in memory of the fans Fedor Emelianenko will forever be a great and incredible fighter, and Ryan Bader’s loss will eventually go down the drain.
The day before, Emelianenko lost earlier than expected to American Bader in a fight for the heavyweight championship belt at the Bellator 290 tournament. The fight in the United States ended in a technical knockout in the first round. After the fight, the Russian announced his retirement.
– Impressions are sad, there was hope that Fedor would win. And, in my opinion, there was hope that he could do it in the first 2-3 minutes. But something went wrong. Either he was tense, got up, didn’t shoot, didn’t recon. Apparently he was set up for a hit and because of that he couldn’t find either the distance or the opponent. And Bader, on the contrary, began to throw light punches. And the ending made sense. Yes, Fedor could strike in the first minutes, but that didn’t happen. And he would have missed it.
Apparently, with age, Fedor’s head began to take blows quite weakly due to the number of missed hits. Well, it turned out to be a logical duel. Either a quick start from Emelianenko and a knockout, or whatever happened. This fight did not change the overall picture – Fedor, as he was a legend, remained so. His personality scale will not change. Now everyone will be a little sad, then he will be remembered by everyone as a great and amazing fighter,” Vasilevsky told .
In total, Emelianenko has 40 wins and seven losses in MMA.
