The next fight of the Olympic champion Alberta Batyrgaziev in the professional ring is scheduled for late summer or early autumn, the team of the Russian boxer intends to seize the opportunity to hold a championship fight in the future. Dynamo Boxing Promotions CEO Sergey Strelkov spoke to about it.
On Saturday in Serpukhov, Batyrgaziev defeated former WBA champion Jezreel Corrales by ninth-round technical knockout and earned his eighth victory in the professional ring. Prior to this encounter, the Panamanian was ranked sixth in the WBA lightweight rankings.
– Albert gave a good performance, I’m very happy. Albert took the initiative from the first seconds and dominated the duel with a strong opponent. Corrales did not expect such activity from the first round. I think it was the first round that influenced the rest of the events. But Corrales tried to turn the tide and tried to put up some decent resistance. I think everyone saw that the Panamanian definitely wasn’t serving numbers, just that Albert was objectively stronger. Albert is progressing noticeably, and we are serious about the championship belt. Albert is striving for that, and I think he’s ready for the title fight already.
Corrales was sixth in the WBA rankings before this meeting, and now Albert should enter the top 10 in the organization rankings, and then we will continue to actively advance according to the WBA to possibly fight for the belt. Albert’s next fight is scheduled for late summer or early fall. We are also ready to hold fights abroad, Strelkov told .
Live broadcasts of boxing evenings at tournaments in 2023 take place on the federal channel and thematic channels of the holding, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
