The fight will take place in London
Former world heavyweight champion fight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) with an American Jermain Franklin (21-1, 14 KOs) officially approved. The bout will take place on April 1 at the O2 Arena in London.
This will be Joshua’s first fight since losing to Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch. In August last year, the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by split decision and retained the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles.
After losing to Usyk, Anthony negotiated a fight with WBC title holder Tyson Fury, but the parties failed to agree. Joshua also considered the option of holding a duel against Dillian Whyte.
In his last fight, Franklin lost a decision to former “interim” WBC World Heavyweight Champion White.
