The main problem is the revenge clause
Conducting a duel between the WBA world champion in three weight categories Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KO) is in jeopardy.
The delay in signing the official contract is a revenge clause. Promoter Oscar De La Hoya stated that the rematch could only be activated if Ryan won.
However, the parties cannot further agree on a platform for a possible second fight. Davis pushes for Showtime PPV, Garcia pushes for DAZN streaming.
Recall that Ryan Garcia and Gervont Davis were supposed to fight on April 15 in the weight category up to 61.6 kg. The venue for the boxers should be Las Vegas.
In the last fight, Garcia defeated Javier Fortuna ahead of schedule. The fight was stopped in the sixth round after another knockdown by Ryan.
Davis defeated Dominican Hector Luis Garcia in a lightweight bout. At the end of the eighth round, Gervonta hit his opponent twice with direct hits and he refused to continue the fight.
