The Ukrainian world heavyweight champion has backed his former rival after a heavy loss.
Oleksandr Usyk believes in Anthony Joshua and believes that the British boxer has the ability to become a world champion in the future.
According to the holder of the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles, Joshua should not give up after two consecutive losses.
“Joshua should not be angry that he lost to me. He just needs to keep working because he’s such a cool boxer and a good guy.
He will still have a chance to become world heavyweight champion again,” Usyk said as quoted by The Guardian.
It will be remembered that Usyk defeated Joshua twice. In September 2021, he stripped him of the championship titles, and in August 2022, he defended the belts.
Now the Ukrainian is preparing for the fight for the title of absolute world champion, which should take place at the end of April.
