The Turkish Wrestling Federation (TGF) said eight athletes were rescued from rubble in Kahramanmaras province after a devastating earthquake.
A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Turkey on Monday evening. The epicenter was the province of Kahramanmarash, aftershocks were then felt in different parts of the country. According to the latest data, the total death toll in Turkey exceeded 2.9 thousand people.
“Rescue operations continue to rescue our fighters from Kahramanmarash, who are trapped under the rubble. At present, the number of rescued wrestlers has reached eight people.
Search and rescue efforts continue thanks to the great dedication and faith of our family of wrestlers,” read a post on TGF’s Twitter page.
