Boxer resumes training after Russian invasion
Undefeated Ukrainian heavyweight Vladislav Sirenko (19-0, 16 KOs) hopes to return to the ring before the end of this year.
The 27-year-old boxer’s training has been affected by the full-scale Russian invasion, which continues for 98 days.
“Now I have the opportunity to fully train and prepare for my possible fight. The war had a very strong impact not only on the training process, but also on the continuation of my career in Ukraine as a whole,” said Vladislav.
“I want to return to the ring with great joy and motivation. I hope that our team will be able to organize several fights before the end of this year. It’s too early to speak for my opponents, but I can say that my motivation is incredible.”
Sirenko had his last fight in December, in the ring of the Brovary “Terminal”, defeating compatriot Andrei Rudenko by technical knockout.
The Ukrainian holds the WBC Asia championship belt, which he previously put up for a charity auction.
