The second duel between the Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol who holds the WBA world light heavyweight title, and the Mexican Saul Alvarez could take place in May 2023, according to Marca, citing DAZN.
Bivol defeated Saul Alvarez of Mexico by unanimous decision in May to defend his championship belt. Alvarez has previously said he wants a rematch with the Russian, but is planning a third fight against Kazakh Gennady Golovkin in September.
– The rematch will take place. There is no way Canelo is giving up on this fight. He is determined to win and wants revenge,” said promoter Eddie Hearn.
Hearn has previously said Britain’s Joshua Buatsi could be Bivol’s next opponent.
