UFC lightweight champion manager Islam Makhachev Rizvan Magomedov has called out incorrect claims that the Russian fighter underwent a banned medical procedure ahead of Australian fight Alexandra Volkanovski .
On Sunday, Makhachev defeated Volkanovski by unanimous decision to retain the UFC lightweight belt. The fight took place at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia. Former Makhachev rival Dan Hooker after the Russian’s fight with Volkanovski suggested on social media that Islam was using illegal drops during the weight race.

At the weighing ceremony, Makhachev showed a weight of 70.3 kg. The Australian’s weight was 70.08 kg. Volkanovski, in turn, noted that in his opinion the Russian weighs about 81 kg.
UFC rules prohibit the use of saline drops.
