“He probably deserves it, but the UFC is a business. Fans have to buy tickets to watch fights, and Islam doesn’t have the most popular style. So his path to the title is just to keep going. to win, and in the end, he won’t be able to refuse,” Berman said.
Islam Makhachev staged 11 fights under the auspices of the UFC, 10 of which he won. The defeat against Adrian Martins on October 3, 2015 remains the only one in the career of a Russian fighter with 22 victories.
