UFC Russian Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev spoke about his opponent at the UFC 284 tournament Alexandra Volkanovski in a duel with which he was able to defend the title.
On February 12, 31-year-old Makhachev defeated Volkanovski by unanimous decision and retained the championship belt. The fight took place in Perth, Australia.
On his Twitter page, the Russian fighter posted a photo from one of the episodes of the fight against Volkanovski, in which he hits the opponent with his hand.
“They called him ‘the best drummer in the world,’ Makhachev signed the photo.
At the weighing ceremony, Makhachev showed a weight of 70.3 kg. The Australian’s weight was 70.08 kg. After the fight, Volkanovski noted that, according to his feelings, the Russian at the time of the fight weighed about 81 kg.
