The holder of two ONE Championship league titles – light heavyweight champion and interim heavyweight champion – Anatoly Malykhin gave a prediction on the outcome of the main fight of the ONE Fight Night 7 tournament, which will be broadcast in Russia on the 25th FEBRUARY.
The fight for the vacant ONE world bantamweight belt (65.8kg) will be the second fight between Brazilians John Lineker (35-9) and Fabricio Andrade (8-2). For the first time, the opponents met in the ONE Fight Night 3 tournament. According to many experts, Andrade was in the lead, but an unsuccessful knee to the opponent’s inguinal protective shell ended the fight, which has been declared invalid.
Undefeated Russian Malykhin (12-0), who like Fabricio trains Tiger Muay Thai and MMA in Thailand, believes Andrade is “very hardworking, very focused and very hungry.”
Malykhin and Andrade also undergo personal training with the Tiger’s head boxing trainer, Irishman John Hutchinson, who also coaches another prominent Russian athlete, Petr Yan. In these workouts, Malykhin managed to notice Andrade’s strengths:
“He is a strong striker. This is his main skill, his advantage. Fabricio knows how to press hard, he crushes the opponent, and if you make a mistake, then he puts pressure to the maximum, – quotes Malykhin ONE. – He there can only be one end to this fight – a knockout I think Fabricio will win and finish the fight before the fourth round.
Malykhin himself will return to the cage on March 25 at ONE Fight Night 8. His fight against Canadian Arjan Bhullar for the unification of the heavyweight belts will take place in Singapore. Andrade thinks Malykhin will win:
– To be honest, I have no doubt that Anatoly will “support” Bhullar … I see no reason why Ardzhan could cause problems for Malykhin.
The ONE Fight Night 7 card will air on Match! Fighter” on February 25, starting at 3:55 p.m. (Moscow time). Live broadcast of the map – on matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites, starting at 3:55 (Moscow time)
