Down-the-line.com/MMA. Russian UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has said he is ready to have a rematch with Australian Alex Volkanovski. Previously, they met at the UFC tournament in Perth (Australia). There, Makhachev defeated Volkanovski by unanimous decision.

“I’m glad I won the fight, but I’m not happy I lost the rounds. I don’t want to lose any rounds in my career. I said I wanted to knock out Volkanovski. I thought about it a lot, worked in the rack and ran out. I knew I had a height advantage. I thought I could hit it hard.

If anyone still doubts, look at the fight with fresh eyes. The judges did not doubt my victory. The fans expected more from me, they thought I could easily handle it. It just didn’t live up to anyone’s expectations.

If the management of the UFC is interested, the fans are interested, I will have a rematch. I don’t choose my opponents,” Makhachev told Match TV.
