Boxer Gadzhimagomedov: “Savitsky turned out to be much better prepared than I thought”

2020 Olympic Silver Medalist Boxer Muslim Gadzhimagomedov said that the duel with compatriot Denis Savitsky at the Moscow tournament turned out to be competitive, as the opponent was better prepared than expected.

On Tuesday, Gadzhimagomedov defeated Savitsky by unanimous decision in an exhibition bout in the top heavyweight division. Muslim made his professional debut in December 2021 knocking out Colombian Deibis Berrocal.

– It turned out to be a very good competitive fight. The opponent turned out to be much better prepared than I thought. After the Olympic tournament in Morocco, I rebuilt myself badly in the professional ring. Unfortunately, the fight is an exhibition, and I will have one fight left on file. It’s hard to find an opponent who will box a full professional fight against me. Thank you to everyone who came out to fight or watched on TV. I’m very happy, thank you all.

I hope that in the future I will hold full-fledged professional eight- and ten-round fights. We will soon move on for the championship belt. In any case, I am focused on preparing for the World Championships, the Olympics, but I want to combine it with professional boxing, – the correspondent reports Gadzhimagomedov’s words.

For Savitsky, 25, the loss was the first in the professional ring.

The tournament with the participation of Gadzhimagomedov was broadcast live on the channel.
