The International Olympic Committee confirmed the futility of the future world championships in terms of selection for the Olympics-2024.

The International Olympic Committee reminded again that the next world boxing championships will not qualify for the Olympic Games.

It will be recalled that the IOC deprived the IBA of the opportunity to conduct Olympic boxing qualifications, all because of the close ties of the president of the organization, Umar Kremlev, to the Russian authorities.

“In 2019, an investigation was conducted, as a result of which the IOC suspended the authority of the International Boxing Association. This decision is still valid.

As announced by the IOC in June 2022, the IBA will not participate in the qualification and boxing tournament in Paris in 2024.

The only valid boxing qualification system for the 2024 Olympics is the one approved by the IOC Executive Board in September 2022, published and distributed to NOCs and National Boxing Federations on December 6, 2022.

So, for European countries, the June European Games will be the first qualifying tournament. And the future world championships under the auspices of the IBA are not important for qualifying for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Earlier, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, USA and Ireland, Great Britain, Canada, Sweden and the Netherlands announced a boycott of the World Boxing Championship due to the entry of Russians and Belarusians into the competitions.
