The promoter believes that the fight for the title of absolute world champion will be postponed
Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that the fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between the holder of the WBA / WBO / IBF / IBO titles Oleksandr Usyk and WBC champion Tyson Fury will not take place on the scheduled date of 29 April. According to Hearn, the Briton will not have time to prepare for the fight.
“I will speak my mind and if I am wrong, everyone will remember it. No, I don’t think it will happen on April 29th. But I hope so. Usyk revealed his bluff, so it’s up to Tyson Fury.”
“I don’t believe he will have a six-week training camp for a fight like this. Who knows?” the promoter said.
Recall, Usyk accepted Fury’s offer to split the fee 70/30 with the condition that the Briton donate one million pounds to Ukraine immediately after the fight. The fight for the title of absolute world champion is planned to be held on April 29 at Wembley Stadium.
The boxers informed the WBA about the reached agreement. The association did not oblige Alexander to defend the belt with challenger Daniel Dubois and gave the teams of both champions time to conclude a contract for the fight.
Fury has already opened his training camp to prepare for the fight with the Ukrainian. Usyk is also actively preparing for the fight – Alexander has only one day off in his training schedule.
