The Briton won the fight by majority decision.

For Edwards, this fight was the defense of the championship belt. On August 20, 2022, he knocked out Usman, who was then the title holder.
Edwards earned his 21st career victory with three losses. Usman lost for the third time in his career.
In the co-main event of the tournament, an American Justin Gaethje won Raphael Fiziev of Azerbaijan by decision of an arbitrator.
