The Ukrainian is considering new opponents after the failure of the fight with Fury
Former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder commented on his potential fight vs WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO title holder Oleksandr Usyk.
“Will Usyk be my next opponent? Many fighters could be next. The boxing business is remarkable in that it hosts world-class events. Nobody is safe. With that said, I want to fight the best of the best. Let’s see what happens when I enter the ring.”
Earlier, a possible fight with Usyk was also commented on by Wilder’s manager, Shelley Finkel.
Oleksandr Usyk’s fight with WBC champion Tyson Fury has been officially cancelled. Oleksandr’s manager Egis Klimas stated that the Gypsy King’s team demanded too much, no matter how much Usyk compromised.
Promoter Oleksandr Krasyuk has revealed that Usyk will start talks about his next fight this weekend. The Ukrainian will prepare for the defense of titles according to one of the versions, which will be held in June or July.
The first in line of organizations whose belt should be defended by the Ukrainian champion is the WBA, which obliges Usyk to fight challenger Daniel Dubois if he does not receive a contract to fight Fury by April 1. Also, the mandatory contender for the IBF title Filip Hrgovic is counting on the duel with the Ukrainian.
