russian boxer Alexander Povetkin told how his communication with Oleksandr Usyk last year when a special operation started in Ukraine.
Earlier, Povetkin said that after the events of February 24, he managed to get in touch with Usyk and talk about what was happening in the world.

– There were contacts, we spoke at length with him. Sasha is a good boxer and a good guy. Probably, they have such a situation that he couldn’t speak differently,” Povetkin told .

Povetkin began his professional career on June 11, 2005, before the boxer won the Athens 2004 Olympics in the heavyweight division. As a professional, Alexander became the WBA champion, boxing for the WBO and IBF titles. Povetkin announced his retirement in June 2021. In the professional ring, he has 36 wins, lost three times and brought one fight to a draw.
Ukrainian Usyk owns the WBA, IBF, WBO heavyweight championship belts, he has 20 victories in the professional ring.
