Bellew: Dubois is still quite raw, Usyk will teach him a lesson

The Briton ended his career after losing to the Ukrainian for the belts in the first heavyweight

Former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew considers himself a mandatory contender for the WBA belt Daniel Dubois not yet experienced enough to face the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“He will train Dubois. Of course Daniel will take advantage of this opportunity – these are three belts. But the child is still learning to play. It’s damp and wet behind the ears.”

“What was the name of the guy he fought last time? Dubois really missed a painful blow and fell. I have seen that. If Kevin Lerena had acted a little tougher, he would have gotten rid of him, no doubt.”

“Oleksandr Usyk is not such a big crush puncher, but I’ll tell you something, buddy. He will hit you and make you think twice. It’s extremely accurate, it has the best legs you’ve ever seen, and its angles and distribution are incredible.”

Recall that Tony Bellew in 2018 was Oleksandr Usyk’s rival in the fight for the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring heavyweight titles. The Briton lost by technical knockout, after which he announced his retirement.

It was previously reported that Usyk is in talks to fight Dubois to defend his WBA belt. The British team sent the Association medical confirmation that the boxer had recovered from the injury received in the last fight.

The WBA is the first in line of organizations whose belt should be defended by the Ukrainian champion. If Dubois does not have time to prepare for the fight, the Ukrainian is ready to face IBF belt contender Filip Hrgovic.
