Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter spoke about another clause in the contract because of which the unification fight fell through.
Tyson Fury refused to donate money to a charity in Ukraine, although he initially agreed. Oleksandr Krasyuk, the promoter of WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, spoke about it.
He said that thanks to social networks, initially it was possible, apparently, to save the failed negotiations. The Ukrainians agreed to an unfair distribution of the income, but set the condition that the British donate £1 million to the Ukraine. However, Fury doesn’t want to do this.
“So social media is so important right now that you just can’t ask fighters to stay away from them. It’s just impossible. And in this situation, I would say that it was social media that gave this fight the last chance.
The negotiations have failed, we just didn’t announce it. And a few hours before the deadline, Tyson said on the social network that 70/30 suits him.
Usyk replied: “I really want this fight to happen. I’m ready for this distribution, but 1 million has to be given.” Previously, Usyk made many donations from his own pocket. But this time, since his share is smaller, it’s okay. Some people say it’s about charity, and it should be from the bottom of the heart.
It should not be called charity. It was Usyk’s condition that he accept the 70/30 distribution. The condition is that Tyson Fury will pay money to a charitable foundation in Ukraine. Because it’s not charity.
Tyson Fury heard the first part about 70/30 but didn’t hear the second part and didn’t accept it. This is one of the points that broke the agreement. These are not social networks, believe me,” Krasyuk told iD Boxing.
We will remind, earlier Krasyuk said that Usyk’s team backed out of the negotiations about the fight with Fury.
