Athletistic/Boxing. WBA light heavyweight (up to 79.4kg) world champion Dmitry Bivol’s manager Vadim Kornilov has expressed his doubts about the possibility of a rematch with the former pound-for-pound leader, the Mexican Saul Alvarez, and explained his position.
“I believe Alvarez’s promoter, his fans and the TV company want a rematch. There is no doubt that this fight is interesting because Alvarez has lost most rounds and now wants revenge.
However, I don’t think Alvarez’s team really wants to have this fight. They will do everything they can to avoid a rematch and I don’t blame them for that. Alvarez first said he was only down a few rounds, then said he wanted a fight in May. However, based on the results of the case, one can judge the true intentions,” Kornilov quoted The Ring as saying.
