South African boxer Simiso Buthelezi is in an induced coma after a horrific incident during a WBF All Africa title fight.
During the fight, the boxer became disoriented after throwing his opponent into the ropes. After his opponent stood up and the referee signaled the fight to resume, Buthelesi turned to the side, walked to the corner closest to the ring and began throwing punches in looks like he’s doing a shadow boxing drill. The referee immediately stopped the fight and the athlete was taken to the hospital.
He is in critical but stable condition. We have found that he has a cerebral hemorrhage, and unfortunately his condition does not allow doctors to carry out certain treatments at the moment,” quotes Sowetan Live Dr. Bouyi Mabaso-Dlamini.
