The absolute world champion in lightweight is not averse to meet in the ring with a Ukrainian
Undisputed World Lightweight Champion Devin Haney said that he was not opposed to a fight with the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko. According to him, the world community would appreciate such a decision.
“I like the fight with Loma. I think the world will give me credit if I fight him. Of course, I’m interested in the duel with Gervonta Davis. These are two names that are definitely on my list of goals,” shared Haney.
“Shakur Stevenson is a good friend of mine, our clash is inevitable. We will meet eventually, but right now I’m focused on fighters who compete in the lightweight division. Let’s see what will happen next”.
23-year-old Haney became the undisputed lightweight champion of the world after defeating George Kambosos. The American took three championship belts from the Australian, winning by unanimous decision of the judges – 116:112, 116:112 and 118:110.
Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision.
Subsequently, Lomachenko could have fought Kambosos, but pulled out against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
