russian fighter Movsar Evloyev told how he recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury in 27 weeks.
At UFC 288, Evloev will fight for the first time since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training in mid-2022. The featherweight has undergone surgery and will face Diego Lopez at featherweight (up to 65.8kg). Evloev remains one of the few Russian fighters, along with Umar Nurmagomedov and Azamat Murzakanov, who has yet to lose a single fight in the UFC.
“It has been exactly six months since the operation. Somewhere around 27 weeks now. And the doctor told me that in six months I won’t be able to fully train. I think if I win the fight, I’ll send it to him. I feel like my legs have become much stronger than they were before the injury. Because when you get hurt and go into rehab, you put more emphasis on your legs. You approach the different types of pumping, explosions, start-ups with more care. And in principle, everything that is done, everything is for the best. Maybe it’s good for me,” Evloev told .
The Russian, who has won all 16 professional fights, contested his last fight at the tournament on June 4, beating Dan Ige by decision.
