Promoter optimistic about fight in December
Promoter Eddie Hearn said that the former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua agree to fight with an American Deontay Wilder as part of a big boxing evening in December in Saudi Arabia with the participation of world champions Oleksandr Usyk And Tyson Fury.
“We know we can make a deal. We want to do it this or next week. We need to decide whether there will be a fight for Anthony Joshua in August. I would like him to fight. But we have to see how the negotiations with Deontay Wilder develop.”
“We made it clear to them that AJ is ready for all these fights and is happy to take on Wilder in December. Let’s see if we can close the deal in the next couple of weeks.”
“We have a great relationship with Prince Khalid and the Skills Challenge. Let’s see what happens. They want to spend that night, they want to organize Joshua vs. Wilder and Fury vs. Usyk. Judging by the conversations, I think that negotiations with Usyk and Wilder went very well. We’re in business too. We need to agree on terms, but we just told Prince Khalid that we want this fight.”
It is known that Skill Challenge Entertainment plans to hold Usyk’s fights with Fury in the Middle East, as well as the fight of two ex-champions – Joshua and Wilder.
It was previously reported that Fury’s fee will be 90 million pounds. In turn, the Ukrainian boxer for the fight with Tyson will earn 60 million pounds. Joshua and Wilder will each receive £30m.
