Russian ONE FC fighter Artem Belakh told Sport Day after Day that the current UFC lightweight champion Aljamain Sterling best chance of winning against former champion Henry Cejudo at UFC 288.
The fight night will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, USA. The fight between Sterling and Cejudo will begin on May 7 in the early morning Moscow time.
– It’s a very interesting duel in terms of tactical work. In my opinion, Sterling has a better chance of success, but that’s only because Cejudo has quite a long downtime. Henry can create a really big sensation, but he can also underestimate Sterling’s fight.
In general, I think Aljamain will run and shoot from a distance and at any opportunity climb behind his back. Cejudo, on the other hand, will constantly approach to strike and transfer to the ground, or he will confuse it, showing that he is going to the legs, but in fact he will strike. I think, most likely, Sterling will win by a trick or a decision of the judges, – said Artem Belakh.
Cejudo last entered the octagon in May 2020. Then the American won by technical knockout of Dominic Cruz. In total, Cejudo has 16 wins and two losses in professional mixed martial arts.
Sterling defeated TJ Dillashaw last October to retain the title. The fight with Cejudo will be his third defense of the belt.
