Russian kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter Artem Vakhitov, who is starting his career in mixed martial arts, told MMA.Metaratings.ru of his desire to break into the UFC.
“The conditions were good for us. There were proposals from other organizations which we are prepared to consider later, and on this date there was a good proposal from Open FC. We have a contract for one fight so far, and then we’ll see. Of course, the team and I plan to break into the UFC in the future, where there are interesting fighters to meet potentially, like Alex Pereira. He went there confidently, won, took the belt. We will follow the same path,” Vakhitov said.
Vakhitov will make his MMA debut on June 11 at the Open FC 31 tournament in Sheregesh against Egypt’s Ashraf Bashandi.
