Haney: I don’t know Lomachenko’s situation yet, but we would be happy to have such a fight

Lomachenko had his last fight in December last year.

Undisputed World Lightweight Champion Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) reiterated the prospects for a fight with the former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs).

“We do not yet know what the situation is with Lomachenko. I pray that everything goes well with him. I hope that in the future it will be possible to fight with him – we would be happy with this fight.

23-year-old Haney became the undisputed lightweight champion of the world after defeating George Kambosos. The American took three championship belts from the Australian, winning by unanimous decision of the judges – 116:112, 116:112 and 118:110.

Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision.

Subsequently, Lomachenko could have fought Kambosos, but pulled out against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
