Shelestyuk: I can go to the first middleweight, it will be interesting to defeat the big guys

Taras has been without a fight for over a year

Ukrainian welterweight boxer Taras Shelestyuk spoke about plans to change the division.

“I am confident that my next fight will be at DAZN Boxing. If I can’t do big fights at welterweight, I’ll go to the first welterweight division, that’s where it gets interesting. Or junior middleweight, it will be interesting to beat the big guys.”

Shelestyuk had his last fight in March last year. The WBA eliminator fight between the Ukrainian and Gabriel Maestre from Venezuela ended in a draw.

Shelestyuk planned to fight in December against IBO world champion Daniyar Yeleusinov (11-0, 6 KOs) from Kazakhstan. However, his opponent refused to fight.

Taras planned to have a second fight with Maestre. The Ukrainian also expressed a desire to fight the undefeated American Virgil Ortiz.
