Russian Igor Sviridchenkov beat the representative of Turkmenistan Bayramdur Nurmukhammedov and reached the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Championship, which is held in Tashkent.
In the 1/8 finals of the weight category up to 71 kg, the judges unanimously gave the victory to the Russian.
According to the decision of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Russian athletes participate in the tournament with national attributes.
On Tuesday, Imam Khataev (up to 80 kg, day session), Dmitry Dvali (up to 54 kg), Tarkhan Idigov (up to 67 kg) and Pavel Sosulin (up to 75 kg, three-day session – evening ) will also have their fight in the 1/8 finals.
