Athletistic/Boxing. At the men’s World Boxing Championship, which takes place in Tashkent, the results of the evening session determined which athletes reached the semifinals. Russians Edmond Khudoyan, Dmitry Dvali, Vsevolod Shumkov and Sharabutdin Ataev will continue to battle for medals.
Khudoyan defeated Wuttichai Yurachai of Thailand by unanimous decision in the weight class up to 48 kg, securing himself a bronze medal. On May 12, Khudoyan will face Kazakh Sanzhar Tashkenbai in the semi-finals.
Dvali (up to 54 kg) defeated Sanjay Seydakmatov of Kyrgyzstan by split decision, despite the one point deduction. On May 12, Dvali will face Oybek Zhuraev of Uzbekistan in the semi-finals.
Shumkov (up to 60 kg) earned a split decision victory over Muzhibillo Tursunov of Uzbekistan. In the semi-finals, Shumkov will face Frenchman Sofyan Umia.
Ataev (up to 86 kg) won every round against Adel Alkhindawi from Jordan. In the semi-finals, Ataev will face Mexican Rogelio Romero on May 12.
Earlier, Imam Khataev (up to 80 kg) and Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (up to 92 kg) went to the semifinals.
So, at the moment, six Russian boxers competing at the World Championships in Tashkent have reached the semifinals and continue their fight for medals.
