Russian Olympic medalist in judo Madina Taimazova failed to medal at the World Championships, which are being held in Doha.
In the quarterfinals of the weight category up to 70 kg, Taimazova lost to Germany’s Giovanna Scocchimarro, then lost to Elvismar Rodriguez of Venezuela in the first repechage bout.
Mansur Lorsanov and Mikhail Igolnikov, competing in the weight category up to 90 kg, also found themselves without awards. Lorsanov was beaten in the repechage by Swede Markus Nyman, Igolnikov was beaten in the first round by Kyrgyzstan representative Erlan Sherov.
Russian athletes participate in the world championships in the capital of Qatar in a neutral status. The tournament will run until May 14.
