“We fooled everyone, fooled the bookmakers.” Kudryashov casually announced the end of his professional career

It took 45 seconds for former WBC silver belt holder Dmitry Kudryashov to defeat AMC Fight Nights champion Vagab Vagabov in the semifinals of the Pravda League Heavyweight Grand Prix Boxing. At the same time, Vagabov was also counted out for the remainder of his ring time.

Some might find this result surprising. First, the bookmakers who saw MMA fighter Vagabov as the favorite in a boxing match against Russian Kuvalda. Yes, the last time Kudryashov entered the ring was in September of last year, and before that in May of the same year. And both times she lost all rounds: to Evgeny Romanov and Evgeny Tishchenko.

And on the eve of this fight, Kudryashov, who had previously participated in the first heavyweight (limit – up to 90.7 kg), noticeably swayed and showed 115 kg. During the preparation, Kudryashov pulled a 300-ton train and held back cars driving in different directions. In general, it is not about boxing. And that was the whole surprise … After a quick triumph over Vagabov, Kudryashov admitted that he deliberately misled everyone by advertising his non-boxing activities. At the same time, the boxer held a full-fledged specialized training camp in Kabardino-Balkaria.

As a result, a well-promoted fight (Kudryashov and Vagabov had over 20 staring duels) went down in a minute.

“I feel good, you saw it all yourself,” Vagabov said immediately after the loss. – Rebooted, hurry. Dima is an experienced old warrior, and such a rush does not say goodbye to him. I paid the price for an excessive desire to win, turned on too soon, deviated from the battle plan. Thanks to everyone who took care of me.

Soslan Asbarov, well known for his fist fights, immediately entered the ring, who earlier on the same boxing night beat Oleg Fomichev by a majority of judges’ votes and challenged Kudryashov to a fight. Popular MMA fighter Magomed Ismailov, who backed up Vagabov, expressed the same desire.

– You already have a queue here. Bald also stands. Anyone who wants to fight, line up and don’t talk too much. Khetag has contracts, there are checks. Sign up and go! I don’t care who I fight. With a bald one, with a hairy one, ”Kudryashov replied.

“I just put on weight especially for you, in my opinion,” Ismailov kicked off in in-ring conversation.

“Look, your head is too bright, so don’t tire yourself out like that,” Kudryashov remarked.

– Fight to be! – said the head of Pravda Khetag Tsopanov, commenting on the duel of views in the ring between Kudryashov and Asbarov.

Earlier, Vyacheslav Datsik reached the Grand Prix final. But such actions make one wonder if this fight will happen, given that Datsik himself was not at the event.

Naturally, Kudryashov also answered the questions of journalists who, in addition to words about the deception of bookmakers, surprised him with a phrase about the end of his professional career, said as in probros.

Dmitry, are you tired?

– I’m more tired of you (smile).

– The fight lasted 45 seconds…

– I stretched it. It took time. We wanted to finish the fight faster so there would be less discussion. And then the best MMA boxers beat the worst boxers… What had to be proven, we proved it on the square. I’m glad that before the fight there were no negative attacks, as is usually the case in the pop industry. Three children are watching me, and Uncle Dima cannot behave inappropriately. Thanks to Vagab for not getting into all sorts of nasty stuff. We showed a good example for all pop-MMA, what can be interesting is a purely sporting aspect, the confrontation in the ring of different styles, rather than sending it somewhere there.

– Datsik can’t hold back in this regard.

– Those are his problems. Beating Datsik is a great pleasure. Before, I only saw him on TV, but now I will beat him. To imagine…

Did your childhood dream come true?

– I was still small and saw how this crazy Tarzan knocked people out, and now I’m Uncle Dima … And I didn’t even dream about it.

– Immediately after the fight, almost everyone was a potential rival, except for Datsik himself.

– You don’t have to ask me. I have nothing to do with the organization. They showed me the check, called my last name and I went.

– Will Datsik be a competitive rival for you?

– It’s yours. The bookmakers didn’t give me a chance now, but as you can see my opponent didn’t have a chance.

– Vagabov started the fight quite abruptly. Did he manage to surprise you with anything?

– Vagab already lost me on the Hook to You program. We spoke with (Aleksey) Makhno, and he said, “Listen, I’ve never seen such a Vagab.” I felt dominated, that was my story. I had no excitement. And first… I needed to see what he came here with. Then I had an opportunity, and I used it.

– That is, pulling a train, holding back cars – is this the very training that Dmitry Kudryashov needs?

– We deceived everyone, deceived the bookmakers. Before pulling the train, I was in the mountains for a month and a half at height, we did special boxing training. We spent six weeks in Terskol. And the train… I left bodybuilding within reason. We really prepared for this fight. Felt like never before. Over the past 20 years, I have consistently put on weight. At the last fights, I had to carry 20 kg each, and I didn’t really need to fight. I was losing before the fight. For me, the victory was to show the weight. And now I will not hide that I am well prepared.

In principle, I have already finished boxing, finished my professional career. For me, playing sports is a motivation. The guys offered to pull the train, so I did some powerlifting. But the rocking chair bores me. Here is the fight with Vagab… I was told that no one wanted to fight him since the boxers. Could you? Here is the motivation.

– Can you develop your idea that you are no longer a professional boxer? Are you going to turn to the pop industry?

– No, no, I’m not going into the pop industry. It’s time for me to do something else. Everyone sees me as a hammer beating somewhere, but no one knows that I graduated from a technical university, a master’s degree in economics. I am a deputy of the local parliament for two convocations (Kudryashov from Volgodonsk – “”). For ten years he worked in the nuclear industry as a leading specialist. I have other things to do than boxing. And I’m having fun here, I’m not going to be a companion. Now, as a man, I was hooked by what I said above (that nobody wanted to box with Vagabov).

Surely you have all seen the photo where I am with the WBC belt and my little girl in my arms. After that, I had two sons. And I want them to see dad in the ring. I will take them with me to my next fight. Here is my motivation. And all those odds and boxes are mine in one place.

– There are doubts that Datsik will fight with you. And you have already been challenged by Asbarov. Interested in such a fight in the Grand Prix Final?

I don’t care what their names are, I don’t know them. There was another bald man standing there (apparently alluding to Ismailov – “”). They have to decide among themselves who will be the first, then it will be possible to talk about something. The conditions are important, and who will be the adversary… It’s already better for you, for the media. The more noise, the better.

– You are now called by one of the best cam fighters.

– The best MMA fighter, the best fist… It’s a ring, and it doesn’t forgive mistakes. We can wish the guys to prepare well for this and to be less talkative in the statements. Vagab talked a lot before the fight, but did little. This will serve as an example to all others. Thrash is good. America… But we live in Russia, we have completely different mentality and concepts.

PS Before the June 11 fight, a correspondent recorded an interview with Kudryashov, where he called him one of the most high-profile boxers in Russia.

“Why all of a sudden? I hadn’t noticed that I was the most publicized Russian boxer,” Kudryashov joked then.
