Russian weightlifter Mikhail Koklyaev believes that the Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk won the British Tyson’s Fury in a potential fight.
Usyk won the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight belts by unanimous decision in September in London by unanimous decision against fellow British representative Anthony Joshua. Fury announced his retirement immediately following his victory over Dillian Whyte in April 2022.
– In my unprofessional opinion, if the technical and tough Usyk is even more technical and tough than Fury, then he will win. If the clumsy and sturdy Fury is even more clumsy and robust, then he will win. Since I have always been and always will be rooting for Usyk, I wish him to be even more technical and tough in a fight with Fury.
What would be my prediction if they met in the ring? I think the fighters would have gone the full distance and Usyk would have won by judges decision. And there, respectively, revenge,” RB Sport quotes Koklyaev as saying.
Fury has 32 wins in 33 fights during his professional career, the Briton finished one more fight in a draw, 35-year-old Usyk has 19 wins (13 by knockout).
