Chingiz Allazov will hold the belt’s first defense on August 4

Allazov’s rival was also identified – this is Marat Grigoryan, with whom the Belarusian fighter has already met twice in the ONE ring. In April 2013, the fight between Allazov and Grigoryan was declared invalid. In the rematch, which took place eight months later, the judges gave the victory to Grigoryan. The fight in the stadium of Lumpini should put an end to the confrontation between these brilliant kickboxers.

Allazov won the title in January with a sensational second-round knockout of Superbon Singha Mavinna. After the win, he said he was ready to fight Grigoryan again:

– I would like to fight with Grigoryan. A lot of people are waiting for this fight,” he said at the time.

Allazov, 29, is sure of himself and comments on his opponent’s abilities:

He’s not ready to fight me. I’m smarter than him, but he doesn’t have a good battle plan. It just goes forward and knocks out. You can’t do that at this weight at this level,” quotes ONE Chingiz Allazov.

Prior to signing for ONE Championship, Marat Grigoryan won the K-1 World Championship twice. He is now on a four-game winning streak. During his career with ONE, he not only won the ONE Featherweight Championship (up to 70.3 kg), but also the ONE World Grand Prix of Kickboxing. Grigoryan is a three-time Glory champion and second in the division. In ONE he fought four fights, only losing to Superbon in the title fight.

Allazov and Grigoryan were supposed to meet for the third time in January this year at the ONE: Only the Brave tournament, but their fight was prevented by a positive test result for Covid-19 in Grigoryan, 31.
